ERSCON is an engineering, development and management consultancy, serving clients in Queensland, Victoria and Papua New Guinea. Through the innovative and collaborative approach that we bring to every project, we deliver best engineering and project management practice, save our clients time and money, and reduce their risk.
Our key consultants had worked together on many projects when ERSCON was incorporated in 2013, bringing under the one roof a team of high performing professionals, led by Managing Director John Martin.
The services that our team members have provided range from major dam infrastructure design and management, to highway and traffic engineering, and engineering services for private land developers. They have included water supply analysis, sewerage reticulation and pump station design, and flood and stormwater modelling and design. We have provided consultancy services on numerous municipal engineering projects, geotechnical services, aerodrome design, and contract administration. We provide training when required.
Many years’ experience has given our team a deep understanding of the challenges posed by distance, extreme climate conditions, and demanding time requirements when working in remote areas of Australia and Papua New Guinea. We have worked closely with remote shire councils, and in particular Carpentaria, Burke and Cloncurry Shire Councils, providing a consistently high and dependable level of service.

John Martin RPEQ, MIE Aust (NPER), BEng (Civil), DipPM. Managing Director
John has more than 25 years’ experience as an engineer. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Project Management and has been involved in many remote area projects.
He has performed the role of Project/Program Manager, Superintendent’s Representative and Site Engineer for numerous large and small scale projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
John has the experience and understanding to coordinate teams of professionals and administration officers in completing survey, planning, design, engineering, construction and close-out of major infrastructure projects.
Heath Jones RPEQ, RPEng, BEng (Civil) (Hons). Director and Senior Engineer
Heath manages our Queensland operations from our office on the Sunshine Coast, and the company’s design team. A civil engineer, Heath has over eight years’ professional experience in civil infrastructure design, project coordination, documentation and contract administration. Much of his work has been on projects on the Sunshine Coast.
Heath is experienced in project management and has been involved as Project Manager on many local government road and drainage investigations, preliminary and detailed design and documentation projects, and several medium-sized subdivisions for corporate and private developers. He has experience in engineering design and has been the lead design engineer on various projects, involving desktop flood modelling, catchment and road flow calculations, conventional underground stormwater design, and MUSIC modelling of bio-retention basins, in addition to sewer pump station design and other services. Heath has a particular interest and sound knowledge in flood mitigation options and solutions. He has been involved in construction administration and progress payment administration on private, local government and state government projects.
Luke Sadler BEng (Civil) (Hons), MEngSc (Geotechnical Engineering)
Luke is the manager of our Victorian office and our senior geotechnical engineer. He has wide experience in major civil and mining projects and the technical expertise and experience to undertake geotechnical site investigations for dams, including the supervision of drilling, cone penetration testing, and test pitting operations.
Luke has extensive field experience in Australia and Papua New Guinea in the investigation and collection of soil and rock data, bearing capacity determination of strata for foundation design, rock class assessments, and assessment to ensure quality control and appropriate ground conditions for embankment dams. He is also experienced in stability analysis of slopes and various other structures, settlement analysis, foundation design, design of retaining walls, embankment and revetment design, shallow and deep foundations, excavations and support, rock bolting and soil nails, soft ground engineering, soil stabilisation and ground improvement, reactive soils and ground moisture stabilisation.
